No. Vendoor takes a snapshot of where you are at two moments: when you clock in, and when you clock out. That's the whole thing. Two snapshots a shift.
It is not a tracker. It does not follow you around during the day, it records nothing between those two snapshots, and it knows nothing about you when you're off the clock.
Think of it like a stamp on a punch card, not a dot moving across a map.
Two snapshots. Nothing else.
- One when you clock in
- One when you clock out
That's the only location Vendoor ever keeps.
- Nothing while you're working between the two
- Nothing at night, on weekends, or off the clock
- Nothing when the app is closed. Closed means off, not running quietly in the background.
There is no map of your day. It was never built to make one.
The one catch, straight up.
While the app is open, your phone checks whether you're standing near one of your jobsites, so it can switch on the Clock In button and pull up the right site for you.
That check never leaves your phone. Your phone just asks itself "am I near a site, yes or no," and keeps the answer. It sends nothing to Vendoor and nothing to anybody else. Close the app and it stops. It's still not a trail. It's your phone answering a yes-or-no question for you and then forgetting it.
Travel time
If your company pays travel time, the app measures the distance between where you started and where you finished. It does that through Google Maps, the same as if you typed two addresses into Maps yourself. It uses the two snapshots you already made. Nothing extra gets collected, and there's still nothing tracked in between.
Why you want location on
Location isn't working against you. It's working for you.
- It gets your travel pay calculated right.
- It backs up your hours. If anyone ever questions whether you were really on site, that clock-in snapshot is proof in your corner.
- It makes clocking in quick instead of making you dig for your jobsite in a list.
If your phone just can't get a signal, say deep inside a building, a normal clock-in still goes through. But travel time needs a real reading to work, and leaving location on is what keeps your pay right and your hours backed up. So keep it on. It's on your side.
Bottom line
Two snapshots a shift, and nothing in between. Vendoor can't follow you around, because it never records the trail in the first place.
